Belleek Pottery was established in 1858 in Ireland by John Caldwell Bloomfield and partners Robert Williams Armstrong and David McBirney, trading as Belleek Pottery Works Company from 1884. Having survived two world wars and several changes in ownership — the most recent in 1990, when George G. Moore became owner — the company remains one of Ireland's most storied potteries, best known for its delicate, translucent Parian porcelain.
