- Pattern: Unknown Floral
- Made in Japan
- Antique: 1911 – 1921
- Details: This is a very beautiful, and very old bowl. It is hand painted all along the border with carnations, spider mums and other smaller flowers. There are green and gray leaves and the band of flowers is bordered on the top and bottom with gold. The bowl has very pretty pierced built-in handles on each side, and if that’s not enough, the shape will get you, the porcelain has been shaped into waves/swirls on the sides that really makes this a stand out bowl. It is made of very fine porcelain, very translucent. The bowl is stamped on the back: “Hand Painted Nippon” and the M within a laurel wreath. The “M” is for “Morimura”, this mark was used for Japanese imports and was introduced in 1911 and used until 1921. This eventually became the mark for Noritake. It would be pure pleasure to serve nuts, dried fruit or even a sauce with a pretty ladle, but we think this will be a gorgeous piece for decor with potpourri or simply on its own. Great Mother’s Day or hostess gift!
