- Details: This is an adorable teapot shaped like a tomato. These tomato ware pieces were imported from Japan by several different companies and became very popular during the WWII and after, they are highly collectible and still desirable today. This piece still retains its original stamp on the bottom which reads: “Maruhon Ware K, Hand Painted Japan US Patent No. 103030”. This patent for design points to between 1937 and 1938, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that’s how old this piece is since tomato ware remained popular into the 1950’s. If you’re a collector of tomato ware ceramics, we hope this piece is a great find for your collection. - Dimensions: Approx. 4.5 inches Tall, 8.0 inches Wide (from spout to handle), 5.25 inches in Diameter and 2.5 inches in Diameter (top opening), and 2.75 inches Wide
- Condition: Vintage – Used. Very Good Condition. There is a very small chip on the lid within the green leaf. The paint is a bit worn on the bottom, there is crazing throughout, but we feel this is consistent/acceptable due to age/use/wear.
