  • Pattern: Cameo Black (Diamond Point)
  • Made in USA by Indiana Glass Company
  • Vintage 1970’s
  • Details:  This is a stunningly beautiful covered butter dish made by Indiana Glass for Tiara Exclusives in 1977.  As you may know, Cameo Black is credited to Tiara Exclusives but Tiara didn’t manufacture any glass, it was all primarily made by Indiana Glass (other glass manufacturers also made glass for Tiara).  This is a truly stunning piece, in a deep black very shiny glass.  It is decorated in the Diamond Point pattern made famous earlier by Indiana Glass.  There is pattern on the dome lid/cover, on the finial as well as the bottom of the underplate.   This butter dish can fit two sticks of butter and even the square blocks of European butter, or a block of cream cheese.  You can certainly use the underplate by itself as a small serving tray.  Would look fantastic on a Halloween table, or mixed with white china for a black and white setting, and even mixed with red for Valentine’s day!
  • Material:  Pressed Glass
  • Dimension:  Under Plate: 9 inches Long.  Dome Lid: 6 3/8 inches Long, 3 1/2 inches Wide and approx. 4 1/4 inches Tall.  Overall: it is 5 inches Tall and 9 inches Long.
  • Condition:  Vintage – Used.  Excellent condition.  There are no chips, cracks, or scratches, except as acceptable due to age/use/wear, and there’s not much evidence of that.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can’t accept returns.  Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.
  • Shipping is included, (Continental US only), unless otherwise noted.  This item ships Priority Mail and Insured for your protection.  AK, HI and  International shoppers will see additional shipping based on your location.

Tiara Exclusives was the brainchild of Indiana Glass Company.  They started Tiara on July 1, 1970 as a retail arm to capitalize on the home parties that had increased in popularity through Mary Kay, Tupperware and others. It was strictly a retail division, they did not manufacture any glass.  Indiana Glass was the primary supplier for Tiara (both companies belonged to Lancaster Colony Corp), but other glass manufacturers like Fenton and L.E. Smith made glass pieces for Tiara using old molds.  Cameo Black was made by Indiana Glass and marketed through Tiara in 1977.  Cameo Black is the same pattern as Diamond Point which was originally sold by Indiana Glass starting in 1965.  It proved to be one of their most popular patterns so they reissued it in black glass and called it Cameo Black for Tiara.  Lancaster Colony closed the Tiara Exclusives branch in November of 1998.
