  • Pattern: Cascade Pine
  • Made in Japan
  • Vintage:  1960’s
  • Details:  This is such a pretty set of dinner plates, perfect for a winter table setting, or nature inspired holiday table.  This is the Cascade Pine from Norcrest Fine China, later reproduced (not the same quality) by Seyei.  When comparing the two you will immediately notice the beautiful, light, translucent china of Norcrest vs the heavier Seyei pieces.  The pattern is a simple pine branch with pine cone attached on one side, and wisps of pine branches on the other side, bordered with a platinum rim.  All plates are stamped on the back: “Norcrest Fine China, Cascade Pine”.  HAND WASH is necessary to maintain condition and design.  We also carry the cups and saucers, sugar and creamer (SOLD), and dessert/bread & butter plates (see photos).
  • Materials:  Porcelain
  • Dimensions:  10.25 inches in Diameter
  • Condition:  Vintage – Used.  Very Good Condition.  One plate has a small chip on the edge, we took several pictures of it from different angles for your review.  There are surface scratches as acceptable due to age/use/wear.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can’t accept returns. Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear  and imperfections.

Norcrest Fine China was founded in 1958 in Portland, Oregon by Bill Naito.  Bill’s father, Hide Naito, had already established relationships in Japan from his own gift shop, which he opened in 1921, H. Naito Gifts, in downtown Portland that sold merchandise imported from Japan but the business was lost during WWII.  Hide and his son reestablished the business in the years following the war. They sold giftware to thousands of gift shops and larger retailers around the country.  Most items were made for Norcrest in Japan, shipped over to the US, and then Norcrest put their foil label on them. The business was incorporated in 1958 as the Norcrest China Company.  Through the years they expanded, opening other companies.  In 1963 they opened a company called Import Plaza, and in 1975 they opened Made in Oregon.  Hide died in 1996 and in 2004 the Norcrest China wholesale division closed.
