  • Details:  An adorable Disney Pendulum Clock, and a true collectible!  This clock was made specially for the Winnie the Pooh 30 Year Anniversary celebration.  It has a glass dome and cute little butterflies rotating on the pendulum keeping time.  The base and dial are porcelain, the rest of the pieces are plastic.  The clock was manufactured by M.Z. Berger & Co, it has precision quartz movement and is in working order. It requires only one AA battery, (not included), we have had it on for a week and it keeps time perfectly.  We took several pictures without the glass dome to avoid glare from the glass.  The clock is sure to impress any Winnie the Pooh fan, the dial has Pooh hugging a bouquet of flowers and there are more flowers on top of the dial.  Seems perfect for a little girl’s room or as a gift for a Disney fan or nursery decor.  Great piece for a collector!

Winnie-the-Pooh is a fictional teddy bear created by English author A. A. Milne and illustrated by E. H. Shepard.  Mr. Milne named the character Winnie-the-Pooh after a teddy bear owned by his son, Christopher Robin Milne, on whom the character Christopher Robin was based. The rest of Christopher Robin Milne’s toys – Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, and Tigger – were incorporated into Milne’s stories. The first collection of stories about the character was the book “Winnie-the-Pooh” (1926), followed by “The House at Pooh Corner” (1928). Pooh wasn’t always this chubby cheeked yellow bear with a red shirt.  The first time Pooh and his friends appeared in color was 1932, when he was drawn by Slesinger in his now-familiar red shirt and featured on an RCA Victor picture record. Parker Brothers introduced A. A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh Game in 1933, again with Pooh in his red shirt. In the 1940’s, Agnes Brush created the first plush dolls with Pooh in his red shirt. Shepard had drawn Pooh with a shirt as early as the first book Winnie-The-Pooh, which was subsequently colored red in later colored editions.  Christopher Robin’s toy bear is on display at the Main Branch of the New York Public Library in New York City.

This clock commemorates 30 years since the estate of A. A. Milne and the licensing agent, Stephen Slesinger, Inc., licensed certain film and other rights to Walt Disney Productions (1961).  The same year Daphne Milne, (widow of A. A. Milne), also licensed certain rights, including motion picture rights, to Disney.
