  • Made in France – label is written in Dutch
  • Vintage:  1930’s – 1950’s
  • Details:  This is a very nice old label, lots of details lots of colors.  It shows a several couples in traditional wear dancing. This makes sense as the name Kermis Vreugde is a country fair with lots of dancing and wine drinking.  The label also has purple grape bunches and colorful grape leaves.   It reads: “Kermis Vreugde, Extra Zoet Gesuikerde Wijn (which means Sweet Sugared Wine)”.  Then several text lines regarding the contents.  The label is written in Dutch, however, we believe, based on the address that the product is from Maison J. Desmet-Maertens in France.  This is a very nice chromolithograph, (Chromolithography is a unique method for making multi-color prints).  Chromolithography became the most successful of several methods of color printing developed by the 19th century.  The label has beautiful gilding which we tried to show in the pictures.   Guaranteed Genuine/Original. Really nice unused condition, suitable for framing, and recommended to maintain this condition. Great for collectors or framed as bar or rec-room decor.
