  • Made in: USA
  • Vintage:  1953
  • Details:  This is a very old advertisement from Lifesavers candy.  It ran on Life Magazine June 22, 1953, advertising their Pep-O-Mint candy.  It was very appropriate for the month of June with the Lifesavers roll posing as a lifeguard, sitting in the life guard chair under a very bright yellow and red striped umbrella.  In another “advertising twist of genius”, they showed the actual round candies with the hole in the middle, like floating swim-rings or “life savers”, hung around the lifeguard chair.  The caption reads: “For a breath-taking rescue”.  On the bottom it reads: “The candy with the hole… still only 5 cents”.  This is an original page from the magazine, not a print or reproduction, the paper has yellowed with time but the colors remain bright.  The frame is wood, simulating rough, old wood, painted blue, makes a very nice combination with the blue chair and blue water.  Our price already includes the ever increasing shipping fees, this item is not only heavy, it is large, so no surprises at check-out.  This is great as a collector’s item, framed and hung in a coastal home, a sun room, pool house or even man-cave or bar.  It is a rare find.
  • Material:  Advertisement: Paper.  Frame: Wood
  • Dimensions:   16.5 Long, 13.5 Wide and 0.75 inch Deep (with frame)
  • Condition:  Vintage – Used.  Very Good Vintage Condition.  This is an original page from a magazine, the paper has yellowed over time.  The yellowing is a bit darker than it shows on pictures, due to lighting, the very first picture shows the actual color best.  There’s a stain, perhaps from the staple that held the magazine together, on the upper left side.  The frame is newer, it is in good condition, a couple of spots with minor paint loss.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can’t accept returns.  Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.
  • Shipping is included, (continental US only), unless otherwise noted.  This item ships Priority Mail and Insured for your protection.  AK, HI and International shoppers will see additional shipping based on your location.
