Vase, Ceramic Wicker Basket Design with Pink Apple Blossoms, FTD

• Details – This is a very nice ceramic planter with an embossed wicker basket design and pretty pink flowers all around the rim.  We believe the flowers are apple blossoms, with dark pink petals that get lighter towards the ends, yellow centers  and bright green leaves.  The bottom is stamped: “FTD Inc. Made in China” it also has the FTD Mercury Man logo.  We have struggled to find another like it, so this one is pretty scarce, if you are an FTD collector, this would be a great addition to your collection. It would look very pretty in a sun room or covered patio.   Would also make a nice hostess gift with a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers.

• Dimensions:  Almost 9.0 inches Tall. Top opening is 5.0 by 4.0 inches, bottom foot is 4.0 by 3.75 inches.  It is cone shaped, narrows towards the bottom.
• Condition:  Used.  Excellent Condition.  There are no chips, cracks or scratches, however, there is a little crazing.  We’ve photographed all four sides, they look like duplicate pictures, but they’re not.  PLEASE REVIEW ALL PICTURES BEFORE PURCHASING.  ALL SALES FINAL. FTDA, known as ‘Florists Telegraph Delivery Association’ (FTDA) was founded in 1910 when a group of 13 American retail florists agreed to exchange orders for out-of-town deliveries. They began telegraphing orders to each other from different states because flowers didn’t always last the long train trips required for delivery in far away places.  In 1923 a British unit of FTD was formed in response to the success of the network in America.  In 1946 International Telegraph Florists was established between FTD, the FTD British Unit and Europe’s floral clearinghouse Fleurop, they became “Interflora”.  By 1965, they expanded to include international transactions, and the company was renamed “Florists’ Transworld Delivery”, to reflect its growing worldwide presence and its partnership with Interflora.  In 2001, the FTD Association separated from FTD Incorporated, terminated all contracts, and, in exchange for 14 million, renamed itself Extra Touch Floral Association, and later, Retail Florist Association.  Interflora is now a subsidiary of FTD Companies, acquired in 2006.  In 2008, United Online NASDAQ UNTD announced a merger agreement with FTD Group, valued at 800 million. since then they have acquired: ProFlowers, Shari’s Berries and Personal Creations. Today FTD has grown to be the largest flower delivery network, associated with over 58,000 affiliated flower shops in over 140 countries.
