  • Details:  This is an adorable decorative plate by John Aynsley & Sons, it is part of a collection called "Cats for all Seasons" with a beautiful cat for each season, this one is Summer.  It shows a beautiful grey and white cat with big green eyes, sitting by a window.  On the table rests a big straw hat with daisies and a red bow, a gorgeous bouquet of  pink and yellow roses and a perfume atomizer, could be her owner's dressing table.  The colors are very bright and happy, there's even an additional pattern all around the border of yellow and pink roses and white daisies on a black background, and the plate is rimmed in gold.  It retains its original blue sticker from Aynsley.  It is stamped on the back:  "Aynsley Est. 1775, Summer Cat, 'Scent of roses fills the air, Eyes of jade are shinning fair', Fine Bone China, Made in England, the copyright logo Aynsley".  It has its own plate hanger attached and we'll leave it, it's in great condition.  If you're looking to complete your collection, we hope this piece brings you closer to having all.  If you're just looking for a pretty plate for your bedroom, sun room or powder room wall, this would be lovely.  Actually, any place you display this plate, it will be beautiful.  Beautiful hostess gift!

John Aynsley & Sons China was founded in 1775, John Aynsley in Lane End, Longton, Staffordshire. The company was extremely profitable and in June 1970 Spode put in a bid, followed by an even bigger bid in July by Denbyware. Eventually, Waterford Glass won the bid. In 1970 John Aynsley and Sons was taken over by Waterford and renamed Aynsley China Ltd. In 1987 Waterford sold the company in order to focus the group's fine china sales on the worldwide Wedgwood brand.  In May 1997, Aynsley China was acquired by The Belleek Pottery Group in Ireland. The company closed its Stoke-on-Trent factory in September 2014.  As of July 2015 the factory shop is still open but its future is uncertain as the site is being advertised as for sale.
