Fenton, who painted decoration on blanks made by other companies. They built their own factory in Williamstown, West Virginia, and began making glass there in 1907, soon introducing the iridescent ware now known as carnival glass. Through the Depression and the early years of World War II, Fenton also made practical items such as mixing bowls, and by the late 1940s a new generation of the family was running the company. Silver Crest, a milk glass body with a clear glass edge, became one of its best-known patterns. Fenton ceased making its traditional handmade glass in 2011, after more than a century as one of the largest makers of handmade colored glass in the United States.

Browse our shop for more Fenton glass to round out your collection.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0624/1733/8577/products/IMG_7845-scaled_9afc746e-8309-4051-9a14-8887bb7511c7.jpg?v=1792511568
