Condition: Very good condition, with one slight chip by the door handle (pictured). The train has not been used, so the smoke function is unconfirmed. The music box plays very slowly, but the tune is recognizable. The original box is suitable for storage only — a different box is recommended if gifting. Known as "The Wooden Evergreen Express," this locomotive plays O Tannenbaum (Oh Christmas Tree) and is designed to blow smoke from its chimney, evoking a real steam engine. Roman Inc. also made a smaller, non-musical 5" version of the same design — this is the larger of the two.

Roman, Inc. was founded in 1963 by Ronald Jedlinski, who started the business with his wife Diane in the back of his father's store, Roman's Art and Gift Shop. What began as a religious articles business grew into a major manufacturer and distributor of Christmas decorations and inspirational giftware, and remains family-owned today under Ron and Diane's daughter Julie and her husband, Dan Loughman.
