A pink rose in full bloom, hand-embossed and hand-painted on warm off-white earthenware — Desert Rose is the most beloved American dinnerware pattern ever made, and even a single saucer carries that legacy.
Introduced by Franciscan Ceramics (Gladding, McBean & Co.) in 1941, Desert Rose remained in continuous production for decades, becoming the best-selling china pattern in American history. This piece is original Gladding McBean production, backstamped 1964. Hand-painted and hand-embossed, no two pieces are identical. The off-white earthenware body is warm and true to the original — not the bright white of later reproductions. Saucer only, no cup. We carry complete place settings, serving pieces, and the creamer and sugar set in this pattern — search "Desert Rose" in the shop.
A perfect replacement, a spring and summer table detail, or a small gift for a Desert Rose devotee.
