The 1970s boho aesthetic never really left — and Sarah Coventry saw it coming.
This late-1970s Sarah Coventry piece — embossed "SarahCov." on the back of the medallion, a mark used from 1953 — features an antique gold-tone chain with open scrollwork spacers and small cranberry celluloid beads in round and elongated oval shapes. The centerpiece is a large removable medallion with a Safari/Aztec-inspired embossed surround and a cranberry Lucite cabochon at the center. Remove the pendant and you have an entirely different necklace. Wear it on the chain and you have something unmistakably 1978. Some wear on the gold metal and beads as expected — priced and photographed accordingly.
A character-rich gift for the Sarah Coventry collector, the boho jewelry enthusiast, or anyone who dresses with a sense of narrative.
