Details: A truly original breakfast set made by Krischer Metal Products Co for their brand, "Creations by Rodney Kent". This set was their "Revolving Hostess Susan" and includes several hand crafted aluminum pieces: the lazy susan with a built in toast rack in the center and two rectangle indentations that hold two glass ribbed containers, (made by Federal Glass), with hammered aluminum lids and the sweetest tulip design as finials. There are two round indentations that hold a glass jelly/jam jar with the same hammered lid and tulip finial, this one has a silverplate spoon which is not original to the set, but it works well in it. The other indentation holds a round jar which is not original to the set, but this is how we found it and works well as a demitasse spoon holder, or for spreaders, (as shown, not included), toothpicks (we believe this is the original intended use for this holder), or honey sticks or any number of other items. What is interesting, is that this mismatched little holder is actually a much older piece by Saben Silverplate and it was sold as a toothpick or match holder in the 1940's, worth at least $20, a great collectible in its own right. All together there are 9 pieces. NOT DISHWASHER SAFE, never place in dishwasher, today's detergents can stain the aluminum finish. Also, most collectors do not polish their pieces as gritty silver polishes or salt pastes rub off the finish. Pieces can be washed safely in warm water and a few drops of a mild dish washing liquid. Gorgeous set to surprise Mom with a Mother's Day breakfast, or for a romantic breakfast in bed with a special someone. Would make a very original gift! Dimensions: Lazy Susan: 11.5 inches in Diameter, 2.25 inches Tall. Rectangle containers: 6.0 inches Long, 3.0 inches Tall (including finial) and 2.5 inches Wide. Round Container with lid: 3.5 inches Tall, 2.5 inches in Diameter (top opening). Round open container: 3.0 inches Tall, 2.5 inches in Diameter (top). Spoon: 4.75 inches Long.
Condition: Vintage - Used. Very Good Condition. There are no cracks or chips on any of these pieces, just the usual signs of age/use/wear. However, we did not give it an "Excellent" because of the two pieces that are not original to the set (spoon and toothpick holder).
