Guiding Eyes for the Blind was founded in 1954 by Donald Kauth in Yorktown Heights, New York, and has since graduated thousands of guide dog teams for people who are blind or visually impaired — all services provided completely free of charge. The organization breeds and trains its own dogs, primarily Labrador Retrievers and German Shepherds, and has long relied on donor support to fund its mission. Cards like this one, with its hand-touched glitter detail, were sent to donors as a thank-you gesture in the 1990s.
