The Birthday Angels series by Josef Originals is one of the most beloved and widely collected figurine lines in America, and this one is in perfect condition. The backstamp reads "Josef Originals" and the original gold foil "Made in China" sticker is intact.

Josef Originals were designed by Muriel Joseph George (a printer's misspelling changed the name forever to Josef) beginning in 1945. Her figurines were first produced in California, then Japan, and eventually China — where this later piece originates. After Muriel retired in 1981, the brand passed through George Good, Applause, and Dakin before the name landed with Russ Berrie.
