He's gathered so many flowers they've overflowed his hat. She's holding a watering can with the purposeful air of someone who knows exactly what she's doing. At 9.5 inches each, these are substantial figurines — Hummel-inspired in spirit, distinctly Arnart in their bright, warm colors and confident hand painting.

The blue backstamp reads "Arnart/5th Avenue, Hand Painted, 11/553" — a mark used from 1957 onward, when Arnart moved to their Fifth Avenue offices and refined their branding. Arnart Imports Inc. has been operating from 230 Fifth Avenue in New York since 1953, importing porcelain gifts that became beloved fixtures in American homes. These two are a hard find together and in this condition. Note: the girl has a small paint scrape on her elbow and the boy has a bit of paint residue on his hand — both photographed. Light crazing consistent with age.

A wonderful pair for a garden lover, a spring or summer display, or anyone who collects Arnart or Hummel-style figurines. A beautiful gift for a birthday, Mother's Day, or housewarming.
