• Details:  This is a beautiful oriental decorative plate.  If the gorgeous, glossy deep cobalt blue color doesn't get you, the beautifully painted Japanese cart will.  It is surrounded by flowers in red, pink, lavender, blue and green with this rich cobalt blue background and a high gloss glaze, just perfect!  It retains its original foil label on the bottom which reads:  "Original ArtMark, Made in Japan".  ArtMark had several different labels, this style label was used starting in 1977 until 1989.  The detail on this plate is outstanding, the colors are vivid, overall a beautiful addition for an Oriental/Asian decor style.

ArtMark Chicago, LTD was started by Mark Lozins and Arthur Born originally as "Lozins & Born, Inc".  Later the company name was changed to Artmark-Chicago, Ltd. (Again using their names, this time first names Art and Mark) and that became their trademark used on their red and gold diamond foil labels.  The company didn't manufacture their ware, they were an importer/distributor of Giftware, Collectables, Figurines, Dolls, Vases, Crystal, Housewares, Souvenirs, Novelties, Home Decor, and General Merchandise from 1947 to 2002.   They would ship items from Chicago to mail-order houses and general-merchandise stores.  Seems Artmark had many different trademarks / companies and each company was started at different dates and closed on different dates, some as late as 2016.  Mark Lozins passed away in Chicago in 1988.
