- Description: This is a gorgeous piece of Japanese porcelain in the Imari style. It has a vibrant, colorful pattern in traditional Cobalt Blue and Rust. A medallion-style center with hand painted florals and lots of gilding surrounding the central floral vase design. The backstamp states it is from the Mino region (Mino Yaki), made by the Wakashi Osamu pottery/workshop, in the Keizan style (Keizan-saku). We are unsure what the M382 number means, perhaps is a model #. It also has a foil sticker from MCI Japan. It is beautiful, elegant and in wonderful condition, would make a great gift for the Oriental decor lover!

Mino Ware is a 1,500-year-old craft, beginning in the 5th century. Mino-Yaki is a kind of Japanese pottery made in the cities of Tajimi, Toki, and Kani, which are situated in the Chubu Region in the center of mainland Japan. Today there are 15 different kinds of Mino ware, all of which are designated traditional Japanese crafts. Without the backstamp it would be impossible to know where, who, and how long ago a piece was made. Not only will you see Mino wares with a variety of designs, made in many different ways, but today there are new kinds of Mino wares being made.
