  • Pattern: Man Making Wooden Shoes
  • Made in Holland
  • Vintage: 1990's (estimated)
  • Details:  This plate is part of long history of Delft Blauw (Delft Blue).  The scene is traditional Dutch, a gentleman working outdoors in what looks to be an old Dutch farm.  He is making wooden shoes by hand.  There are so many details on this plate, you can look at it for a long time and still miss things.  The variations of blues on this plate are a very nice effect.  The back is stamped: "Delft Blauw, Hand decorated, Made in Holland".  There are no pre-drilled holes but we've kept the plate hanger it has in the back, feel free to remove it if you rather use a plate stand.  There is a chip on this plate, please see Conditions below.  Since the chip is in the lower front rim, we feel this plate would benefit from one of those round plate frames available on line, that would hide the damage.  We've kept the price low due to the condition.  Great addition to a farmhouse or country decor.  Excellent for lovers of Blue and White decor!
  • Materials: Ceramic
  • Dimensions: 9.5 inches in Diameter
  • Condition:  Vintage - Used.  Average Condition. There is a chip on the lower front rim and it is noticeable.  It is unfortunate because the rest of the plate, and the actual image, are in excellent condition, no chips, no scratches.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns, all sales final.  Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.
Delfts Blauw (Delft Blue) or Delftware is a symbol of national pride for the Dutch.  It is world famous pottery that has been produced in the city of Delft since the 1600's.  Is it best known for the blue and white tin-glazed earthenware, but it is made in other colors too.  Originally only the very rich owned Delft Blauw, but its popularity waned and of 33 factories during the peak, only one remains today, Royal Delft, is the only one making the very expensive, original tin-glaze process.  Today, Delfts Blauw is really used as the brand name on the bottom of ceramic pieces identifying them as authentic and collectible.
