Details: This is a handmade, blue glass, pedestal vintage candy dish shaped like a bird in nest from Westmoreland. Many call this glass color, Robin's Egg Blue, it is an opaque blue glass, similar to milk glass, known as Opaline Glass. This glass was originally invented by Portieux-Vallerysthal glass company of Vosges, France. (1836 - 1977). This beautiful Bird in Nest Pedestal Bowl can be used as a candy dish, keeping your sweets stylishly displayed. Westmoreland is known for high quality glass and this dish is no exception. It is marked with the overlapped "WG" embossed on the glass, mark was used from 1940 - 1980's. We dated this piece anywhere from 1946 to 1957, that's because the price was introduced in 1946, and 1957 is the last year Westmoreland's pieces were hand finished. This one retains the original foil sticker that reads: "Westmoreland Glass, Authentic Hand Made". The intricate design and creative crafting by Westmoreland on this sweet bird bowl adds a touch of elegance to any room. It is in pristine condition, ready for gift giving, if you can part with it. This is a heavy piece for its size, please keep that in mind at check-out.
Condition: Vintage - Used. Excellent Condition. There are no scratches, chips, cracks or crazing. Retains its original foil sticker.
