Details: This is such a gorgeous crystal decanter, in one of Waterford's most beautiful and classic patterns, Lismore. With the elongated diamond cuts, round stopper with deep cut lines, this makes for a very elegant decanter. The shape of this decanter is known as a Ship or Captain Decanter, which is one of our favorite styles! It was designed to keep the decanter from tipping over during a voyage at sea. This pattern, Lismore, has been made since 1952 and it's still being made. After some research we have learned that earlier pieces are not marked, they had a foil label, so we believe this one is from before the 1980's. However, with all the fakes in the market and our limited experience with Waterford, we can only tell you what we observe. This one catches the light beautifully, has smooth, not rough cuts, it's unmarked, (or at least we can't find the mark), it's very heavy, it feels and looks like crystal; so we feel it is authentic, but we've kept the price low, just in case. This pattern is still being sold, a new one costs approx. $650. It would certainly look lovely on any bar or bar cart. A most generous gift for a whiskey connoisseur.
