Hans Huber, a passionate landscape and high-alpine photographer, founded the publisher in Munich in 1920 before relocating to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where he built a name photographing climbers on the Zugspitze and the peaks of the Bavarian Alps and Dolomites. The firm remains family-run today as Fotoverlag Huber.
