The kind of kitchen wall decor that makes you smile every time you walk past — a bright, hand-painted vegetable in ceramic chalkware, just waiting for a hook and a wall.
These are English chalkware vegetables from the 1950s–1960s, each hand painted in vivid, true-to-life color. Available individually — choose from Green Beans, Sugar Snap Peas, Tomatoes, Radishes, Beets, Turnips, Carrots, or Yellow Beans. We believe these were made in Great Britain: the majority are stamped with registration numbers on the back, consistent with wares registered under the British Registered Designs Act of 1949. Each has a hook on the back for hanging. Most have a small ding or two — consistent with age — nothing that diminishes the charm. Approx. 4" × 4" (smaller pieces 4" × 3"). Also available: fruits to mix and match.
In a farmhouse kitchen, a cottage, a summer house, or anywhere a cheerful, handmade touch belongs. A wonderful gift for a chalkware collector, a kitchen décor lover, or anyone who appreciates mid-century British craft.
