Solido was established in 1930 Normandy by Ferdinand de Vazeilles.  By the 1960's the Vazeilles children were running the company and manufacturing some of the best toy cars the company ever made, often based on blueprints from actual European car manufacturers.  After World War II, the company moved several times finally staying in Anet, France.  At the end of the 1970s, they faced financial issues and partnered with the Jouet Francais Group (which included Jouef, Delacoste & Heller), the name was changed to "Heller-Solido SA", and the Vazeilles family no longer had control. At the end of 1980, this company went into liquidation and was purchased by Majorette.
