- Made in Japan
- Vintage: circa 1950's
- Details: These salt and pepper shakers are so unique, delicate and beautiful, we almost didn't put them up for sale (but we have too much stuff!). These are high quality, glazed porcelain with lots of details. They look a lot like the traditional Chianti bottles that come with the straw base. There's two of these "bottles" inside a very pretty basket. Everything is adorned with tiny relief (raised) porcelain pink roses and green leaves. The colors are soft pinks, browns and greens with wonderful gold accents. Incredibly, they still had their original stoppers, which are actual cork, not plastic or rubber, that tells us these are very old. However, during cleaning one of them one of the corks just dissolved in our hands, so we created a replacement from our cork collection. We believe these are from Lefton, (perhaps Relco, but we're leaning towards Lefton for many reasons), but the identifying label is long gone and we couldn't find others for comparison. This set would make a terrific hostess gift. It's perfect for a shabby chic, country, traditional or Victorian style kitchen. Beautiful on a table for a girl's birthday, Mother's Day, Tea Party or Spring/Summer setting.
