Description

  • Pattern:  (Discontinued)
  • Made in Japan by Noritake (Morimura Company of Japan)
  • Vintage: 1920's - 1930's
  •  Details:  This is such a delightful serving dish, once you start using it, you'll wonder how you did without it.  Used in the olden days to serve lemon wedges, would look lovely on a table today when serving tea, iced tea, lemonade, fish dishes, or anything else that calls for a wedge of lemon.  The lusterware band is gorgeous, it's between a blue and a green color, almost a mint green.  It is rimmed by a black and a red line.  In the center, hand painted yellow lemons and lemon blossom with green leaves.   It has a little loop for carrying, called a finger loop, you see these many times in candle holders.  Red backstamp from Morimura (M).  We could see this on a Spring or Summer table setting, or buffet table.  Truly a unique piece and conversation starter.
  • Material:  Fine China / Porcelain
  • Dimensions:  5.5 inches in Diameter and 1.5 inches Tall due to the loop handle.

Every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections. Refunds will not be given unless there’s gross misrepresentation of condition.
  • Shipping is included on every order with some exceptions.  See FAQ's for exceptions.

Dating Noritake and Morimura Brothers pieces can be overwhelming.  Here we've gathered for you some of the nuggets of knowledge we've collected through the years to help you understand the dating, value and how we come up with the dates on our pieces.  We know that Noritake and Nippon are both brands that were produced and sold by the Morimura Company of Japan.   This piece has the letter "M" in a wreath mark (for Morimura) which were used between 1914 and 1940.  In the late 1920s and early 1930's the lusterware was introduced by Noritake, many times in combination with hand painting.
