- Made in USA
- Antique: 1890's
- Details: This is a gorgeous, very old crate label from Cupid Brand Grapes. It is a chromolithograph (a colored picture printed by lithography, especially in the late 19th and early 20th centuries). It shows a baby, perhaps a cherub, picking grapes and putting them in a basket. There are three different colored bunches of grapes. It has a nice gloss/shine finish, which I tried to show in the pictures, and the colors are amazingly bright and beautiful, also worth noting, the beautiful lettering, very much the style of the time. The label is marked "New York State Cupid Brand Grapes" "Seneca Lake Concord" "Table Grapes Packed Expressly for and shipped only C. R. Brewer, Starkey, N.Y." Guaranteed Genuine-Original, it was acquired from the estate of one of the premier label dealers of all time. Collecting crate labels has become a very popular hobby, mainly because of the beautiful and unique images/artwork that can be found. If this is your hobby, we have lots more labels available, please feel free to browse.
