The Diamond Point pattern appears on the dome lid, on the finial and on the bottom of the underplate. The dish fits two sticks of butter, the square blocks of European butter, or a block of cream cheese, and the underplate works by itself as a small serving tray.

It would look fantastic on a Halloween table, mixed with white china for a black and white setting, or even mixed with red for Valentine's Day.

Tiara Exclusives was the brainchild of Indiana Glass Company, which started it on July 1, 1970, as a retail arm to capitalize on the home parties that had grown popular through Mary Kay, Tupperware and others. It was strictly a retail division and did not manufacture any glass. Indiana Glass was the primary supplier, as both companies belonged to Lancaster Colony Corp., but other glass manufacturers like Fenton and L.E. Smith made pieces for Tiara using old molds. Cameo Black was made by Indiana Glass and marketed through Tiara in 1977. It is the same pattern as Diamond Point, which Indiana Glass had sold starting in 1965; it proved one of their most popular patterns, so they reissued it in black glass as Cameo Black for Tiara. Lancaster Colony closed Tiara Exclusives in November 1998.

Browse our shop for more vintage butter dishes and Indiana Glass to round out your collection.

https://www.antigotrunk.com/en-ca/products/vintage-cameo-black-butter-dish-with-lid-tiara-indiana-glass-diamond-point
