In 1833 Spode was purchased by a partner of Josiah Spode III named William Taylor Copeland. Mr. Taylor entered into a partnership with colleague Thomas Garrett, and the firm was known as Copeland & Garrett until 1847. After 1847 the business continued as W.T. Copeland and sons until 1970, and again the term 'Spode' or 'Late Spode' continued in use alongside the name of Copeland. The company was sold by the Copeland family in 1966 to the Carborundum Company Ltd. In honor of the company's 200th anniversary in 1970, the name was changed back to "Spode" to honor its founder, Josiah Spode. Spode merged Royal Worcester in 2006. The merged companies entered administration on 6 November 2008. The brand names Royal Worcester and Spode, the intellectual property and some of the stock, were acquired by Portmeirion Group on 23 April 2009. Many items in Spode's Blue Italian and Woodland ranges are now made at Portmeirion Group's factory in Stoke-on-Trent, others are outsourced around the world.

Pattern: Vintage Ziggy Candle Holder, Christmas Holiday Candle Holder, Peace / God bless us everyone!, Licensed Collectibles, (Discontinued)

Made in Taiwan

Vintage: 1984

Details: Such an adorable votive holder, with none other than the famous "Ziggy" cartoon character. This hurricane votive holder from the Forget Me Not Collection by American Greetings and features Ziggy, always the animal lover, singing Christmas carols with his dog Fuzz and cat Sid. There are four panels, two are decorated, one reads: "God bless us everyone", the other "Peace", both signed by Tom Wilson. The panels are frosted glass and the frame is black metal. This looks like it's never been used, all original stickers remain. The bottom sticker reads: Forget Me Not American Greetings Corp, MCMLXXXIV, Univ. He became an importer of ceramic decor like planters, vases, figurines, and tableware but was most famous for their lady head vases. By 1956, they had grown extensively and moved Brinn’s China to a larger building, (that later became part of the Pittsburgh Historic District), they remained in that building until 1965. In 1966 they expanded their inventory and updated their trademark to include ceramic housewares, tableware, pottery, pots, planters, etc. By 1959, the company was distributing ceramic and brass imports from Japan and England. In 1975, Charles Brinn was President, he personally traveled to China to attend The Canton Fair which increased their imports from Taiwan/China. They remained a family owned company, we believe they were out of business by the late 1980's.

Vintage Vintage Candy Dish, Christmas Poinsettia, Frosted Glass, Studio Nova, Original Box, Round Decorative Dish, (Discontinued)

Made in Japan

Vintage: circa 1990's

Details: This is a very pretty dish, called a Round Tray by Studio Nova, but we see it more like a candy or nut dish. It features a highly detailed, embossed poinsettia in the center with an unusually shaped rim that narrows towards one side with a thick gold rim, very pretty. Nutrient-rich volcanic soil and fresh, cold, glacier water from surrounding mountains also help them produce top quality fruit. They are still in business today.

The lithographed label was produced by Louis Roesch Company Lithography of San Francisco, California. The company was established in 1879. We found some brief history from The International Printer dated 1906, in it we found that after the huge San Francisco fire in April, 1906, which destroyed as much as three-quarters of the city, that same year Louis Roesch was already constructing a new 2-story building for his company to continue. And continue it did, they are one of the few lithographers still in operation, perhaps the only one in San Francisco.

Pottery Barn, Twelve Days of Christmas Eight Maids a Milking, Sugar & Knowles plant in Chester, West Virginia and moved the operations there. Harker Pottery is known as the "Oldest Pottery in America." During their many years in business they had many successful lines including: Cameoware, Pate Sur Pate, Laurel, Hotoven Cooking ware, Harkerware, and many more. They not only made dinnerware but also clocks, rolling pins, utensils and even bathroom fixtures. According to the Collector's Encyclopedia of American Dinnerware by Jo Cunningham, "The Jeanette Glass Company bought Harker and closed it down in March of 1972. Another company, Ohio Stoneware, Inc., made crock-pot liners in the building until it was totally destroyed by a fire in September of 1975."

Pattern: Mikasa Christmas Cheer (Discontinued)

Made in Japan

Vintage: 1988 - 1997

Details: This is such a pretty cup! It is a demitasse, also known as an espresso coffee cup. It has a large red sleigh full of gifts one one side and a pretty plaid bow and holly on the other. The saucer has the plaid ribbon and holly all around the border and a great big bow on one side. Both the cup and saucer are rimmed in gold and many of the gifts and pieces on the sleigh are accented in gold. The colors are bright and cheerful, perfect for the holiday! Great for a demitasse collector or to add to your Christmas decor.

Material: Bone China

Dimensions: Cup: 2.5 inches Tall, and 2.25 inches in Diameter.
